What lengths am I willing to go to in order to do right. by every child?

A common misconception is that a teachers job is nice, simple and easy. The truth is that it is not like many think. A teacher is responsible for so many things aside from educating academics to students.Specially because all of the students come from different backgrounds and have had different experiences due to their culture. As mentioned before aside from teaching, a teachers job is also to make all students feel confident and safe with who they are. To accomplish this there is only so many things that a teacher can do. The real question is how far, what length or what measures are teachers willing to go for their students. As I was reading through this weeks module, on a teacher should be culturally responsive,  there were some words that stood out to me which I chose for my WORDitOut. I choose these words because I was able to connect them with the importance of being a teacher who goes above and beyond for their students and how they should respond to having a diverse classroom

Is schooling equitable?

The question “Is schooling Equitable?” is asking if schools are fair and/or equal. There is a lot of things that could be argued within this topic but I personally believe that although many things have changed over the years; schools are still not equal. In the past, schooling and education wise were considered unfair and unequal. People of color couldnt even go to the same school as white people. Although this is not the case, nowadays the students are still being separeted even even if both white and color people are attending the same school.Stereotypes are the most common misconsepting in a school that we all do this no matter what. We see someone and automatically start looking at them up and down, noticing any detail and judging without even knowing them By doing this students are already choosing who theyre going to get along with and who they arent going to talk to.Not only are the students being separated by the stereotypes of being of color or who are part of a minority gro

Do I have the full picture?

Just like people say that there is always two sides to every story I also think that we dont ever have the full picture, there is always more to what we dont see or to what we dont know. We only see a portion or part of the picture or the moment that was being lived and this is the same thing with students. When I was reading through this weeks module there was a quote that caught my attention. It said “Teachers go into the field with limited understanding of the children…”(Bettina Love). It really stood out to me because it supports the idea that we dont have the full picture, specially when it comes to teachers and students. In college teachers learn the overall of student on how to understand their think and what curriuclum they should be teaching. A teacher never gets the opportunity to know their students at a 100%. Teachers are in charge of teaching a certain amount of curriculum to a certain amount students in one year, which is why teachers are first when it comes to wether or
